Review: White Lighthouse

Since knowing me and my family were moving house about 8 months ago I have been looking for new furniture, I found my perfect style and about 4 weeks ago I received my order from The White Lighthouse. I was apprehensive to order from them because of the mixed reviews about the quality of the products and their reported poor customer service regarding returns, but I loved the design of the furniture which I couldn't find anywhere else for the price.
The furniture arrived within the given time actually on my birthday. I was out when they arrived and my dad put them up for me, he tells me that they arrived packed in thin flat pack style boxes and when assembling them the washers to go over the screws didn't fit and we had to use our own, dispite that it was straight forward to assemble and I was really impressed with the finished product that fits with my room perfectly.

The New England White Dressing table £140, the website does give measurements which are mostly accurate (my measuring to be Height 72.5cm, Width 94cm, Depth 31.5cm with the draw matching the websites description). It was thinner that imagined and was I worried there would be no room, but it does fit all I need on it and gives me more space in my room to walk around in my room. It did get a few scratches from a piece of metal on my vanity mirror, but they aren't too visible, and there are no other dents or unpainted patches.

New England Bedside Table £90, (my measuring to be Height 70cm, Width 40cm, Depth 31cm, and the Draws 25 x 22cm) Is the same material as the dressing table so be careful with scratches, but is really beautiful and I haven't had a problem with it.

White Bedroom Chair £85, (my measuring to be Height from the floor 92cm, Chair back 50cm, Width 40cm from the front of the seat and depth 40cm) The chair is glossier than the other furniture but it gives depth to the furniture. There was a small spot on the back of the chair that was unpainted showing the bear wood, but it doesn't really bother me and could be covered up with a simple white paint if you were bothered.
I also purchased there New English Dressing Table Mirror as I wanted something plain that matched the rest of my furniture, I love it and the are no visible defects.

Review: Rebecca Minkoff Hudson Moto Mini

I have been using the same black leather bag I got from my mum for about 5 years, It is very worn out and the lining on the interior zip is ripped. So I have been looking to treat myself to a new one.

I first saw the Rebecca Minkoff bags on Fleur-de-Force's channel and then again on Essie Button's blog, and fell in love with the style of the Hudson Moto Mini I knew I wanted another black one so I looked on lots of different sites to try and find a stockist in the UK.

As it was a lot of money to spend on something I've only ever seen online I wanted to use a website I trusted and knew the returns policy. I found it on amazon.com and it took just 7 days to arrive.

It is a smaller bag than my last one but because of the wider girth, partition and the general structure of the bag you can still fit the same amount in as a medium sized bag but without over packing, also making it easier to stay organised.

It is a durable bag without being too stiff, plus the saffiano leather mean it's less likely to get scratches and is easy to clean. Hopefully this bag will last me another 5 years.

Just for the record the bag was £160.34, £14.51 shipping and handling and £41.30 import fee deposit.
